Increase Access to A Global Good: An Executive Conversation with Vivli’s Executive Director Dr. Rebecca Li and Privacy Analytics’ founder Dr. Khaled El Emam

What is Vivli? Why is it a breakthrough for clinical trials data sharing? In this Executive Conversation, Our Special Guest, Vivli Executive Director Dr. Rebecca Li; and Dr. Khaled El Emam, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Privacy Analytics, discuss the Vivli-Privacy Analytics partnership and its significance for the global health research community.

We invite you to attend an Exclusive First Look at this complimentary webcast:

“Increase Access to A Global Good”

It takes place on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 11 a.m. EDT/ 3p.m. GMT.

Acting as a neutral broker between data contributor, data user and the wider data sharing community, Vivli’s stated objective is to harmonize governance, policy and processes to facilitate data sharing with an independent data repository, in-depth search engine and cloud-based, secure analytics.

“We occupy a unique position as an umbrella organization that brings together a variety of entities,” Dr. Li observes. Vivli’s members and partners are an esteemed list: The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Trust, Harvard University, Duke University, Johns Hopkins University, Pfizer, GSK, Takeda, Wellcome, and Biogen are among those who help make Vivli happen.

The Vivli platform was designed and built to ensure the security of the anonymized clinical trial participant data that it hosts. Therefore, enlisting a trusted partner to help data contributors anonymize their data, before sharing it with Vivli, was critical. Privacy Analytics, with its extensive experience in de-identifying highly sensitive personal health information datasets covering a wide bandwidth of sizes and types, was selected to apply its expertise.

Dr. Li and Dr. El Emam will provide insights into how Vivli works, who it serves, how the partnership came to be, and what they see in the future for Vivli as a global, neutral platform for clinical trials data sharing.

They will also offer observations gathered from their respective presentations at Privacy Analytics’ Executive Roundtable adjacent to the DIA Global Clinical Trials Transparency Conference September 2018 in London, England.
